So I must confess to having a list of things I am going to do when I win the lottery. I came across these dinky pools that pack a punch. This is by no means an endorsement for the product as I know almost nothing about them, but that does not stop me from daydreaming.

The idea of having an aquatic keep-fit solution in your own back yard that doesn’t take up the space of a conventional pool is certainly very appealing. I couldn’t help but notice that the target market seems to be older swimmers. Given that they often have grandchildren, I would hope there is a fail safe way of covering these pools.
Looking at these pools makes me wonder if they wouldn’t be a cost-effective way to bring swimming to people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to it. Building a pool is a costly and enormous logistical undertaking for most institutions but installing something that looks like a giant hot tub may be a lot easier.
The applications are as endless as the name itself: therapy, training, teaching in a non-threatening environment, etc.
The other question to ponder from a water safety point of view is where these would fall regulation-wise. Would they need a fence around them? Do they need a special kind of cover? What about drainage covers?
All in all this looks like a nifty thing to put on my wishlist, as long as the safety issues are dealt with. There would also be the small problem of having to change the climate here in Canada or moving to a house that could accommodate an indoor pool - now there is something to add to my wish list. Now where did I put that lottery ticket?
